I first heard this piece played in the hallway of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music by my dear friend, Brazilian guitarist Aliéksey Vianna. We met on the bus on my way to audition at the school and immediately hit it off, due to our similar interests, including the work of composer and multi-instrumentalist, Ralph Towner. Aliéksey knocked me out with this piece by Towner and our jam session in the hallway was probably the reason I was accepted into the program!
